Patrick Mulondo is the future of conceptual sculptures in the region.
Born in 1989, Mulondo graduated from Makerere University, where he majored in sculpture modelling, carving and jewellery making.
His work explores recycling of scrap metal together with casted fibreglass to give old common found objects an entirely new, extraordinary life and purpose. As Mulondo skilfully captures emotions with a knack the lifelike human, animal forms and his strident metal configurations, the works have kept intriguing and inspiring his audience with their efficaciousness for attachment as the ordinary mediums acquire new meaning and existences with deep soul filled creations.
His sculptures have gaining rapid favour among the public, collectors and public art patrons. His most notable commission so far is ‘The Journey’, a commemorative monument of the 50 years of independence in Uganda. Patrick has exhibited in several countries.
